This is the highest-quality willow used for cricket bats and is preferred by professional and serious club cricketers.
Characteristics:

Lightweight with excellent pickup.
Outstanding “ping” (the rebound of the ball off the bat).
Softer wood compresses well, producing more power.
Straight, clean grains (typically 6–12 visible grains on premium bats).
Requires knocking-in and regular oiling.
More expensive than other willow types.
